Between July 15th and 22nd, Taurus Education assisted the University of Virginia and Middlebury College in their 2010 Admissions Information Sessions tour of Nanjing, Hangzhou, Shenyang, Shenzhen, Ningbo and Shanghai. The Admissions Officers visited several top high schools, including Hangzhou No.2, Beijing Normal University Experimental High School, Northeast Yucai School and Zhenhai High School, where they were warmly received by the administration, students and parents.
At the sessions, Parke Muth (International Admission Director, UVA) and Robert Clagett (Dean of Admissions, Middlebury College) provided a detailed overview of the schools' distinctive features, covering a variety of topics ranging from location, history, popular majors and research facilities to sports, and campus and community life. The attentive speakers also delivered details of the financial aid and application procedures that Chinese students and parents showed particular interest in.
After the presentations, the admission directors talked with individual students and parents and answered any questions they raised with patience. Current students and alumni from UVA and Middlebury participated in the sessions and shared their personal experiences with the prospective students and their parents.
Taurus Education would once again like to thank Parke Muth and Robert Clagett for imparting the latest admission information to the Chinese applicant groups. Taurus hopes to organize information sessions that are open to the public in the near future, advancing our mission to bridge the knowledge gaps in the college application process.
