The writing seminar at Taurus was an inspiring experience and gave me much insight into how to compose my own essay. Romina taught the class in such an impressive way that I can still remember the details today. We first read an article about a fair in Istanbul. It was such a highly descriptive article that I could even sense the noise of vendors and the smell of sweat at the fair. As Romina guided us through the passage, I was surprised to find out that the writer used plenty of adverbs but only two or three adjectives. It made me understand English writing in a completely new way.

I used to focus more on adjectives, but in fact verbs and adverbs are the key tools in making an event vividly described in an essay! We also talked a lot about other writing skills. All of our discoveries about writing were based on close reading and discussions. It was amazing to find out how many writing strategies we students had easily overlooked when we read normally. When I got home that day, I had to discard the essays I had written before. It was not hard to come up with an interesting topic, but it really took effort to tell the story I wanted to tell from the most engaging perspective. Thanks to Taurus, I was able to enjoy writing my stories again with the newly-learned strategies in mind.

The Taurus experience is definitely one of the most intellectually engaging and valuable experiences I’ve had. At Taurus, one has the chance to meet and converse with accomplished graduates from top US colleges who are potent life educators. What truly makes a great college great is the diverse population of intelligent people one gets to meet there. The Taurus experience parallels that of a great college in this respect, for it provides you with the opportunities to interact with the types of people you will typically find in first-rate universities. These interactions, paired with a reflective mind, will help you discover your own potential and improve your outlook.

When I received my college acceptances, one thought sprang to mind: “I did it, but Taurus has made it possible for me!" The thing I like best about Taurus advisors is that they inspire instead of instruct, so that I remain true to my own applications and responsible for my own future throughout the entire application process. The Taurus experience gives you great confidence to succeed, but more importantly, it ensures that you have the right to feel proud for any of your achievements.

The Taurus environment is integral to the success of the students. Amidst the suffocating pressure of deadlines, the Taurus office remains a high-spirited place. Many Taurus advisors are adept entertainers who can help you deal with the pressure, and students can always find consolation and strength in each other. At Taurus, you will not be alone in the long journey through the college application process.

“Books are never finished, they are merely abandoned.” This quote is posted on the wall in the Taurus office, constantly reminding perfectionists like me to make more efficient use of time and not to be overly obsessed with details. Yet, most of my detailed concerns were addressed by Taurus advisors, with great results.

I desperately needed guidance when I began to consider furthering my education in the US, as none of my relatives speak English or know anything about US universities. Taurus attracted me with its high standards immediately when I met Taurus representatives. So strong were the advisors' backgrounds that I was instantly impressed – the team was a mix of Ivy League college graduates with many nationalities. In my first meeting with Stanley, the Taurus CEO, I immediately decided to be a member of Taurus as I was impressed by his clarity and confidence.

That weekend, I went to the Taurus office in Shanghai for specially designed writing and orientation courses. In addition to the insights I gained in the well-taught classes, the Papa John’s we had outside the classroom gave me great internal happiness.

Every time I reflect my application process, I want to thank Taurus, to thank those dedicated and adorable Taurus advisors. Taurus advisors are more like friends. With their help, the "torturous" application process became much easier.

I still remember how timid and hesitant I used to be. However, now I can confidently share my experience with others. This is all because of Taurus. Every time I discussed my work with Taurus advisors, I came to know myself better and became more confident.

Taurus advisors also set good examples for me because of their dedication to their work. When I saw them putting their hearts and souls into helping their students, even sometimes sacrificing their personal time to help students, I told myself that I should make every possible effort to live up to my own and their expectations.

However, do not assume that Taurus is a rigid and dull place. Instead, it is a place full of joy. Whenever the versatile and funny Taurus students and advisors gather together, everyone will have lots of fun. There was so much fun to be had at Taurus that sometimes I didn't even want to go back home. I am thankful to myself for striving to improve my writing. I am thankful to myself for believing I would be accepted by a good college. Most of all, I am thankful to myself for getting involved with Taurus Education. Throughout my college application process, Taurus strengthened my will to receive an excellent education in the United States.

Working together with professional, easy-going Taurus education advisors and energetic Taurus students, you will feel like your educational goals are within reach. Encouraging compliments from the advisors and the hardworking spirit displayed by the students will push you hard to take advantage of every minute you spend at the Taurus office. Several education counselors will help you pace yourself, and the workload and plan for every week before the deadlines will be reasonable. Your relationship with other talented students will also keep you motivated. The atmosphere at the office, however, will not be competitive or cutthroat, but cooperative and enjoyable. At Taurus, you will feel like part of a family – a big family. You will be willing to give your fellow students a helping hand, because you will believe that they would by all means do the same for you.

It was a really good decision for me to be a part of Taurus. The Taurus professional advisors sacrificed their personal time and assisted me with my writing skills. I could clearly see how hard they worked and how much they also enjoyed assisting you. Believe me, it is good to be a Taurus student. The college application process is not easy. I often felt uncertain, not knowing how to describe my experiences in concise ways. Taurus changed me. Along the way, Taurus' advisors have been my closest companions.

The first time I attended a Taurus information session, Taurus advisors' deep insights amazed me and instilled trust in me. Since then, Taurus has never let me down. After the writing class taught by Romina, I formed a whole new view of essay writing due to her wonderful elucidation: A good essay does not show off, does not tell people what you are capable of, but it "shows" who you truly are as a person by demonstrating how you stand out from all other applicants. In the following months, this concept had influenced every topic I selected and even every word I chose. As one goes through the process of applying to US colleges, it is important to understand each college's admissions requirements and find a college that is the right fit with one's personality. One should do a lot of research and try to learn what kind of student background appeals to which college and what kinds of students they are looking for. Taurus advisors, who are all graduates of famous US colleges, gave me lots of honest advice and help on these topics. I really appreciate their efforts.
