On September 12, 2009 in Beijing, Mount Holyoke College admissions director Cherry Cachero held an information session at Beijing Chaoyang District Library about Mount Holyoke and its admissions process to a crowded room of eager students and their parents. As a graduate of Mount Holyoke, Cherry peppered her presentation with personal anectodes and stories about her own process of applying to colleges and why she eventually chose Mount Holyoke.

Cherry provided a detailed overview of the schools' distinctive features, covering a variety of topics ranging from its location, history and campus and community life. Mount Holyoke is a prestigious all-women's college located in Massachusetts. As part of the historic Seven Sisters group of female colleges, it is one of the oldest women's colleges in the United States. Cherry gave details about financial aid and a new merit scholarship that Mount Holyoke has created specifically for international students. Cherry finished her talk summarizing the global exchange programs and internship opportunities Mount Holyoke provides all over the world. After her talk, the admission director talked one-on-one with students answering their specific questions.
