On November 21st 2008, Taurus Education's co-founder and Yale and Stanford alumnus, Brian Ong, was invited to speak on a panel of Ivy League graduates at Dulwich College, organized by the school for its bright and promising 8th to 11th graders. The 2003 establishment of Dulwich College in Shanghai, a co-educational, non-denominational academic institution for the expatriate community, found a successful education model based on the same educational philosophy of Dulwich College London, est. 1619.
Panelists from UPenn, Harvard, Yale, Dartmouth, and Princeton gathered at Dulwich College in Shanghai to talk to an auditorium of over 150 students and teachers. The panel addressed what the alumni did to prepare themselves for the competitive admissions to these prestigious universities. Responses ranges from "everything" to "nothing at all," and a few of the panelists with admissions interview experience emphasized the importance of passion in the extracurricular activities that students choose to participate in. The panel also talked about their current and past careers as a way to get these students to think about what happens after graduation.
The event concluded just outside the auditorium, where lunch was served, and the panelists mingled with students to answer further questions.
